ALONE
ALONE
If a puddle
Comes your way,
Glance in it
To see your lone reflection.
The shade obscures
the real and imaginary,
Imparting shadows to those
Who may not be there.
The companion
who turned away,
Took your leave
in your adversity.
Craft your own umbrella
Fashion your own raincoat,
Armies may battle the storms
Far reliable is your little boat.
Row with your own oars
Bring your courage
Like the eagle
who highly soars.
Alone
above the storms
and thundering clouds
and rips the rainsheets
Alone.
All it takes is one.
