Aspen Trees
As the wind blew my hair,
I observed the snow capped summits in the distance,
I had to take a moment to stare,
To be in awe of their existence.
While the aspen trees stood in an array,
The horizon appeared serene,
In my head I will always replay,
My captivation from this scene.
Rolling mountains covered in snow,
Slowly crumbling beneath my feet,
For no matter how far I go,
These memories will always be on repeat.
I carefully breathed in the crisp air,
My surroundings were at rest,
No other peaks could compare,
For the view was completely picturesque.
For these memories were made far away, but I am drawn back close everyday.
I went to places so far from the ground, I escalated so high and I never came back down.
As I say my night time prayers, I pray that through my dreams the Lord takes me back there.
