Urbanization
In an ideal world,
We buy land,
To start a family,
To build a house,
With four bedrooms,
Two baths
And a long deck,
To sit and watch,
Our children run
And our dogs roll,
In a beautiful backyard,
Where grass is mowed,
Every second Sunday of the month,
From sidewalk,
To tree line.
In a realistic world,
We buy land,
To live alone,
To rent a house,
With empty bedrooms,
Two baths
And a long deck,
To sit and watch
Bulldozers make space
and create change
to the depleting environment,
where grass is bought,
every second Sunday of the month,
and placed in front of
newly built apartments.
