The typing of computer keys,
Hum of dim lights,
Scent of old book bindings,
Pages flipping,
And the girl across the room
Twisting her earring
As her attention is immersed
Inside a story.
Part of me wants to read
Every book in here,
And know all that I can,
But it’s already 3:00
And I have somewhere else to be.
