Castle Rock
With the conch in my hand
I walked up the way
The way I thought would be the end
The end of this nonsense
They call savages
We've all lost our marbles
But what marbles
I've certainly lost mine
At least without my glasses
Being led like a dog
I went up the hill
Up to Castle Rock
Who goes there
Called the savage
I imagined us screaming
Little Pig, Little Pig
Let me in
I chuckled to myself
Little did I know
How bad it would go
Little did I know
How fast his marbles would go
Little did I know
It would be my time to go
Castle Rock, oh Castle Rock
What a beautiful sight
Little did I know it would be my last
It came so sudden
All a blur
I never saw it coming
Never thought they could truly go savage
Never thought they would choose murder
Castle Rock, oh Castle Rock
Why have you betrayed me
Castle Rock, oh Castle Rock
One if your rocks killed me
Castle Rock, oh Castle Rock
One of your rocks took me away
The end of innocence
As Ralph would soon say
Was lost in us
We all did things
We don't care to repeat
Things that took us away
Lost in savagery
Lost in irrationality
Lost in paranoia
Lost in fear
Lost is civilization
Castle Rock, oh Castle Rock
How could you do this
Castle Rock, oh Castle Rock
You were once so fun
Once so innocent
I see it now
Why it had to be
Hangman's horror came upon him
He knows what he has done
What he has become
Does he care
No
Castle Rock, oh Castle Rock
I once believed
Intelligence trumped savagery
Castle Rock, oh Castle Rock
I never saw it coming
Never could see
They took away intelligence
Castle Rock, oh Castle Rock
All is lost
I am lost
Castle Rock, oh Castle Rock
Why me
Just fair haired Piggy
I made this for a Lord of the Flies assignment in my English class. My teacher loved it so much and said I should publish it. So, here it is, my first submitted piece.
