This is who I am
When my world comes crashing down around me,
Sometimes
I might just crumble right along with it
But I can get right back up again
The tears will fall
And I will keep on hoping for the impossible
Wanting more than I have
But when the disappointment hits
When the sadness comes
I can take it
Because this is who I am
Sometimes
All can seem hopeless
But its not
I look around me
And I see my family
Standing with me
Laughing with me
Loving with me
Always
And when I feel
As if I am so alone
I’m not
Because I have poetry
And so many other things
That surround me
They are me
And so much more
There will always be something
To tell me
You are not alone
So I say:
Think
Breathe
Write
Listen
Live
Love
And let the tears fall
Let the world collapse around me
Because I will get right back up again
Just to tell you
This is who I am
