Dreams of the Future
I remember dreams from God
I remember things I hate like sounds
and places
and they’re in color
before me are dreams calling
from the future,
shadows that will not cease
to cast an ominous silhouette
and cold sheets in the night
in a bed I cannot sleep in.
I remember things I hate like sounds
and places
and they’re in color
which I cannot run from,
following me
It presses upon me secretly
like silent murder
on a piano each note of my life
is played eerily,
echoing in my haunted dreams.
I have never been so afraid
as I am
in this moment.
I remember these things of death
so vividly,
and what God,
will you leave me forever
to the future I see destroyed
and my tears eternal?
I have never been so afraid of things I remember—
at this moment
be with me.
