I Am Me
I am sick,
Physically and mentally,
Can’t seem to get better,
And I’m terrified,
Because I’m beginning to get used to it,
I am who I am,
I am me.
But who are you?
I am tired,
No matter the amount of hours I sleep,
Not that I sleep many,
But I almost prefer it that way because,
I am a night owl,
I feed on the chaos of the eve,
Once the moon comes up,
For me the world truly begins,
Yes, I am an night owl,
I am who I am,
I am me.
And who are you?
I am happy one moment,
No not just happy, ecstatic,
Like a child who received candy
Without having to beg for hours.
Yet the next moment,
I am numb,
Like a tooth drunk on novocaine,
A body under the spell of a coma,
I am complicated,
I don’t understand myself,
I can’t quite explain it,
But I am who I am,
I am me.
Just who are you?
