WSJ Love Poem
We were poised to embrace it.
No longer would we be deterred.
All the while with intense discrimination,
prejudice, and boycotts.
Together we were stronger, but
while separated it was hard, complex,
and explicitly wrong.
It was rare, this idea,
this hope of cooperation.
It was so hard to attain.
But with it, we weren’t complex,
we were bold,
we were strong,
we were together!
