A Thousand Years, A Thousand Tears
I’ve cried a thousand tears,
And I’ve lived a thousand years.
I’ve had a thousand fears,
And more than a thousand dears.
I know that children are the most wise,
And the ancient ones are blinded by tired eyes.
I know the happy one hides the most cries,
And the strongest the most failed tries.
Wisdom comes not through tears,
Or years, or fears.
Wisdom comes from falling down,
And making the choice not to drown.
Wisdom comes from the off-road veers,
And the lessons behind our sorley bruised rears.
So, through the years, and tears, and fears,
Through the pain of your sorley brusied rears,
Through the breaks from the many off-road veers,
Remember this my dears:
A thousand tears, and a thousand fears.
Your strength will last a thousand years.
