Ennui
Some sluggish bulls***
Slathers and slime seduced
Suffering strengthens woe like
The spread of ebola or
The black death
And insides erupt and
Walls are splattered
Like the ceiling with
Contaminated ennui;
Dirty lack of stimulation is still
Flattered by society
In glorious variety;
The body rolls around in
Helpless slumber;
Lazy eyeballs sliding
From one corner of
The soiled screen to
The next trying to
Seek out distraction
When really there will
Never be a satisfaction;
Fractions
Of seconds turn from one
Day to the next, still you
Slump like a dead animal
Flies consuming odors of
What used to be the motors
Which ran your heart down;
Till the flesh was raw
Till all the blood drained
From your veins
And bared your flaw.
