Confusion
There are too many things I don’t understand
Why?
can’t I ever apologize when it matters?
I’ve left so many arguments
unresolved,
unresolvable
because I didn’t say the words.
Now it’s too late:
the salt has been scattered,
and nothing can grow.
There are too many things I don’t understand
Why?
did I ever say those words?
I’ve thrown so much hurt on others,
stinging,
vicious words
because I couldn’t close my mouth.
Now it’s too late:
the match has been lit,
and everything has burned into ashes.
There are too many things I don’t understand
Why?
can’t I think when I’m falling in love?
I’ve done so many foolish deeds,
idiotic,
brainless deeds
because I didn’t follow the admonitions of my mind.
Now it’s too late:
Cupid’s arrows have struck my heart,
and it’s bleeding.
