The Ways I Cannot Love You
I can’t love you to the moon and back,
Because science proves that emotions can’t stretch that far.
I can’t love you forever,
Because forever is just a concept.
(And plus
do I really want to live that long?)
I can’t love you with all my heart
Because hearts are not capable of emotion,
simply restless beating.
I can only love you the only way I can:
With parts of my mind.
I hope that’s good enough for you,
Because it’s already too much for me.
But that’s okay,
Because it makes my nerves tingle in the best ways.
