The Illusion of Forever
I'm waiting for Eternity,
In the castle of Infinity.
With a million steps; plus one more,
And an endless lake; without a shore.
I've been waiting weeks, but mostly years,
Listening for footsteps with my ears.
And watching time as it goes around,
Counting the seconds that I have found.
I spend each day with the reading of books,
Or checking the mirror to improve my looks.
But every hour is the same,
Wishing that Eternity came.
In the castle of Infinity,
I'm waiting for Eternity;
But she will never come,
For forever is gained by only some.
