Truth
It holds us
Keeps us captive behind Its ropes
The more we fight
The tighter we are pulled back.
It spills like poison
Like a partition,
Souls never meet again.
It hides in dark closets
A dark shadow that follows us
Everywhere we go
It follows
Until you set It free.
People hide from It
Afraid of the chaos It unleashes
Fearful of what it will do next
It can bring relief
Joy and content
Satisfaction that calms our anxious hearts.
The poison can be an antidote
Dispelling the pain
The need for something reliable
It can provide.
You see, It can come in many
Sizes, shapes and colors
Shades even.
It can be giant
Or miniscule
Profound or negligible.
The truth can be cold
But in hide and seek
The seeker always
Prevails.
