If Only
If only my eyes would shine like stars,
And if only my skin didn't.
If only my laugh could fill a room,
And if only my size couldn't.
If only my face had more freckles,
And if only my arms had less.
If only I never needed less make-up,
And if only I never needed more.
If only I had more than mosquito bites,
And if only my thighs weren't so big.
If only I were a couple inches taller,
And if only my arms weren't so long.
If only I could walk gracefully,
smile sweetly,
sing beautifully,
speak quietly,
be perfect.
If only I didn't have to try so hard.
And if only I knew I didn't have to.
