The Dark
The shadows churn
And seethe in the corners.
Dark entities lurk
Waiting in the thick blackness
For a victim to call theirs.
My heart races
As little feet tap
And patter,
Following me at a distance,
But always keeping me in their range.
I imagine the teeth
Sinking into my vulnerable flesh
When I dare to get too careless
And step into the domain
Of shadows.
I dare not go where I cannot see.
I dare not go.
Who knows what's waiting for me,
Who knows what lurks in the dark,
Who knows?

One of my greatest fears is what I cannot see, so I thought that writing about it can help with my fear and maybe help other understand how I feel.
