I Used To Love A Monster
I used to love a monster
A monster with beautiful words
And Shakespearean lips.
His paper bullets
Could heal the ugliest of souls.
He spoke in words
That didn’t exist
But spoke so elegantly
He fooled the world.
Don’t cast out the monster
With miracles for eyes
And a musical tongue.
His words are a blessing
And mine a light.
Take my words
And give him back his light.
