Let Me Be Free From You
Awakening from a night’s slumber,
Blue eyes baffle my mind,
Clouding my memory.
Darkness digs deep,
Etching its way beneath my skin.
Fallen angels cry for him today.
Golden tears fall from the sky.
Hear my voice:
I have nothing left to give,
Just a skeleton now,
Knowing nothing of your world.
Let me be free from you.
My body aches in your grip.
Numbness fills my heart,
Opening up my soul,
Penetrating my deepest secrets.
Quit on me, and never shall I
Recover our lost love.
Stay, and I will forever
Thank God for your presence.
Unable to move, I stand.
Vacant eyes, empty expression.
When you return home,
X’s and O’s will greet you.
You will be safe from harm,
Zealous as you once were.
