Where I'm From
I’m from satirical comics and jokes about math
From sitting in the back and never talking
I’m from teacher’s pet and eating lunch in the classroom
From headphones at full volume while walking down the hallway
I’m from faded flannels and dirty high top sneakers
From youtube videos in the early hours of the morning
A bright screen lighting up a dark world
From almost broken glasses and hair blowing in the wind
I’m from Saturday mornings at theme parks and baseball fields
From the smell of sunscreen and illusory polaroids
From rushed cosplays and oh look it’s the sunrise
Im from fandom phone cases and tee shirts
Im from forever being a poet
And winged eyeliner resting above tattoo chokers and dip dyed hair
Im from take no prisoners
And do it now think later
Im from catchy alternative rock
Indie music stores and nerdy podcasts
From family means everything
But family don’t end in blood
