True Cinderellas MAG
Princes don’t sweep us off our feet,
and shoes never fit just right;
painful heels give us blisters.
We don’t dance the night away
to have men run after us for days.
Mice don’t become our friends.
We are not always la de da
doing what we’re told.
Faces, beautiful or not, shed tears
when we’re called names we let define us.
Men who think we’re minds swept clean
will never get their Cinderellas.
