I begin to walk,
each step a precise calculation,
sweat begins to collect at my palms...
My mouth is as dry as the desert,
the roar of my heart beat rings in my ears.
Fear rises within every fiber of my being,
images of uncertainty flash before me...
I stop and inhale a sharp breathe,
then I bite back the fear,
and face my inevitable future.
