Enlightenment: Rape of the Lock
I've just read the Rape of the Lock
An epic poem that leaves you in shock
It's a narrative poem that describe's this young girl
Who from the start is doomed to lose a curl
Written during the Enlightenment period
A time where you weren't soo serious
A time of questioning and exploration
And to rethink their nation
yet, it was considered rebellious action
Enlightenment thinking would be seen as an infraction
But many, such as Pope who wrote the Rape of the Lock
used satire and allusions to make the audience talk.
