Courage
The underbrush ahead of me,
the snowy trail behind.
I leave my inhibitions and I dare to take the climb.
I throw myself into the wild,
without knowing much.
I won’t die,
I cross my heart,
I spread my wings and fly.
The joy and glee I’ve left behind,
the sorrow up ahead,
I know I can’t give up,
and it’s going to my head.
I leave my inhibitions and I dare to risk my life.
I throw myself into the fight,
I know I will survive.
I won’t die,
I cross my heart,
I brace myself and fight.
I won’t die,
I cross my heart,
I spread my wings and fly.
The war is coming to an end, I can feel it near.
I step back and take my place,
relinquishing my fear.
I didn’t die,
I crossed my heart,
I spread my wings and fly.
I didn’t die,
I crossed my heart,
I kiss the field goodbye.
I leave the field behind.
I’m coming home tonight.
