Too Numb
Numb.
I'm numb from the words and laughter,
Glancing from the papers and sarcastic coughs,
Gripping my fists upon my lap.
The nerves and paranoia never diminish,
Deaf halls only visited by the hypocrites,
Who shame the same things they praise daily,
Who are they to judge?
Humble hearts struck dead by jeers,
Wide eyes closed for conservation,
None realizing how their words left me
B - R - O - K - E - N,
Broken.
I'm broken by the words and laughter,
Shattered by the sarcasm in their tones,
I'm broken by the never ending paranoia,
Stuck in a hall that can't hear the truth.
B - R - O - K - E - N.
Broken, and too numb to notice.
