Home.
I will be your partner even when you don’t need one
I will be your company on lonely days
I will take you places you don’t know
Small restaurants I found on my way home
Safe havens hidden in the woods
I will leave my boots on the floor
my smell on your sweaters
my footprints on yours
I sing while I shower
and sometimes talk more than I should
I sleep on the left side of the bed
but will often fall asleep on the couch
I will love you with every new sunrise
every “good night”
There will be more of me than you are used to
more hair, more skin
more books than are necessary
I often talk to myself
and I like making picnics on summer days
I don’t know how to cook a proper meal
but I make the best sandwiches you will ever taste
I will love you without question marks
without wavers
without silences.
