Paris Attacks
We see it on the internet
we hear it on the news
we see it in the paper
almost one million views
A knife to the throat
or a gun to the head
there is no safety
families wished they had fled
We close our laptops
and turn out the light
we think we are safe
until terrorism reaches new heights
Now I see the stained blood
and I hear the innocent cries
we no longer just see on TV
everyone who dies
Fighting in the street
Shots heard from behind
no trust and no faith
one day society won’t be so blind
we are numb
to the horror we hear about everyday
we ignore the reality-hope
it'll go away
