the glass isn't half empty
i spend days on end staring
at the glass of water, wodering
whether it was half full
or half empty.
my eyes strained on the still liquid
as it sits in the glass, taunting me.
it tells me that it is
half empty
but i know that can't be the case
because people criticize the ones who
see it to be lacking
i see the ones who look at the water
and see what it
has
and i wonder
how they could possibly think that way.
my eyes go out of focus
trying to figure out how it could be
half full
when it was obviously the opposite
headache sets in as i stare at the mocking glass,
claiming to hold my true self.
it would be lots easier if i could just be the
one who sees the water for what it has,
not for its deficiency.
i wonder how people can so easily see
the glass as half full
when, logically, it isn't.
but logic is the exact problem here
in this glass cup of inner thought.
through my wondering of what it was
or wasn't
i found the exact answer to my question
that most don't see.
so for those who don't know:
logically,
the glass can be refilled
