body thoughts: reprise MAG
it pools deep
in intact hands
in holy aching neck and shoulder bones
of feral gods;
let us breathe,
we’ve time and time and
time
to understand the demands our future
makes of us.
previous dreams learned us well and compare
each other in each
episode of restless sleep, only hope
we wake in the middle to see
it happen when it does and when
i’ve come
from endless ache and vibrant strain
to look us in the eyes and find
the glaciers there, the glow there, the brambles
through which i fought to get there
with us, wrapped around us, forgiven,
only foliage,
only part of the scenery,
clinging to our bodies but doing no harm –
the harm here is the harm we
must do each other
in good time, and
this is the time to leap,
in time to love,
this is the time to speak
those body thoughts.
