The Blood Temprament
I don’t hide in the shadows
I am them
I make the midnight glow
I make hulls of people’s skulls
you only let me live when you let me grow
I am the man you got arrested
I am the knife he wove around
I am his witness, judge and jury
I am the man who put him down.
I am your wife when you come home late from work
I am the other woman when she finds out
I am the reason you close your eyes
when your son will sit and pout
So go ahead, go and comfort him
tell him that clouds may be white
but the sky is always blue
tell him everything will be alright
Keep denying that I am you.
