Hunger
The calm baby ponders about with his left lazy eye in his mother’s arms
His thick lips crave Chap Stick as the constant breezes derive his lips of moisture
Hunger, he is hungry and his mother’s hard work caresses and reassures him of hope
The blazing freezing winds cease the baby’s icy hot breath as his body adjusts
Whew! This sure is a long walk mama…
The rough, patched blanket she has wrapped around him itches him
Don’t worry my dear child; we’re getting there
Hunger, he is hungry and his mother’s hard work caresses him and reassures him of hope
The nice, warm house nearby teases the hungry, black, cold baby
The baby is held like a loaf of bread in a hungry person’s arm
Like how a big bear is held tight on Valentines Day night
His mom’s hard working hands caress the baby in a way that is most affectionate as she stares down at him like her most prized possession
With his fingers resting easily away from his body, fringed like a t-shirt, he endures the walk with his mom
The rough, patched blanket she has wrapped around him itches him
Hunger, he is hungry
Freezing, the baby is freezing
And his mother’s hard work caresses him and reassures him of hope
