our generation
i was born
too early to witness
the invention of time travel
and the colonization of mars,
i was born
too late to experience
the discovery of earth
and the joy of gaining freedoms
i was born
too early to witness
a cure for cancer being made
and the discovery of alien life
i was born
too late to experience
the creation of cell phones
and the happiness of winning a war
but
i was born
just in time to
be bullied over social media
and harassed for being a girl
and molested by guilty men
and judged by how many likes
my instagram photo gets
and discriminated against based on
sexuality/religion/gender/race
and considered ugly because of the
number on the scale
and critizised for being myself.
maybe that's why everybody
talks trash about
our generation?
