Eyes of Topaz
From native heritage,
Inherits a special spirituality,
And proposes a new way,
To see the world and beyond.
Her eyes shone like topaz,
A brilliant color I’d never seen.
Her hair was light,
And her skin was dark.
I thought her dead for weeks,
But here she was,
inches from my face.
It has to be more than a dream.
A grandmother's love is irreplaceable,
And can never be forgotten.
Lord knows I won’t forget.
I love you Grandma.
