The Autumn Tree MAG
Your territorial bark standing your ground
Your roots deep in soft wet soil
Your tangled limbs dressed in colors
of red, yellow and orange
A sticky sap like substance sticks to
your torso like jelly
The warm, radiant sun hovers over you
like a herald angel
A blast of a cool fall breeze runs past you, leaving the smell of sweet damp leaves
The light from the sun reflects off of you, illuminating such color
In front of you lies a meadow, a field, a land
Flowers and weeds all around
Ordinary you may be to all, but within
one sees much more
You stand your stance, such a beautiful stance
You sway your sway, such a glorious sway
How does one not see such vividness
As the sun sets behind you
Still leaving that embellishing glow of
your posture
Enemies surround you
Closing you in
Enemies begin to pick and eat at you,
as if they were picking at flaws
All but one remains distant
Leaving you be
Feeling your pain and knowing their game
As you fight this never-ending brawl
Searching for strength
That blast of cool breeze runs past
you once more
Your limbs begin to shake
Your bark begins to peel, as if you were
an orange
Enemies dash away in fright from your sinister behavior
The wind begins to calm
Flowers in the meadow begin to die
One remains
Remains to stay to search out your inner adorning behind your visual appearance
This piece was made as a bullying aspect. I took a certain object and gave it personification. I love putting beautiful and vivid images into my poetry. Poetry is probably my strongest when writing. I the Boone County Poetry Contest and got first place with this poem. The message i would like to get across to the readers that may read this is, you shouldn't bully or be hurtful to anyone now matter the visual or emotional appearance inside and out.
