Past Sins
And so we pause,
Time not expired
Just sit and watch dear,
By the dying fire.
Lost hearts all aflame,
Past lovers deep in graves,
So pray tell me darling
Whose soul should be saved?
We dealt out the darkness,
We commanded the haunts at night–
So no good, honest soul
Could sleep soundly, nor sleep right.
Do not spout remorse to me,
You who paid the blood.
To make the world your oyster,
Chaos bursting from tainted flower's bud.
So now here comes the guilty Colossus,
Regretful of his paid victories.
Decidedly tired of his towering spoils,
And weeps for his tumbled injuries.
