The Deadly Rose
I looked around the garden
Gazing with admiration
The bright and vibrant flowers
God's flawless creation
On the right were the lilies
On the left were the tulips
So beautifully arranged
A smile forming on my lips
I strolled a little further
And saw the most beautiful rose
It was glowing in the sunlight
Watered recently by a hose
My fingers itched to hold it
Awestruck by its charm
I went to touch it slowly
Unaware that it could even harm
As I gently touched its stem
I saw blood on my fingers
The pain seeping in my skin
Like a sad song of those singers
I looked at the red devil
And saw the thorns around
The beauty was on the surface
Inside it couldn't be found
So we should see the heart inside
Not the outside grace it shows
Or one day you'll have to face
The curse of the deadly rose
