we fly up, up and away,
into the dreams of adulthood
and the hopeful wish of growing up
((now we wish we could be children))
we fall,
popped by reality
and shattered by deadlines and bills
((shouldn't we have our lives together by now?))
we sit,
weighed down by our parents' principles
hindered by our childhood
burdened by our race, sexuality, religion, and gender
((some of us never get off the ground))
