While the Rest of the World Sleeps
When the day ends, the people go home
They rest and wait for tomorrow
While the sun slips out of the spotlight
The wind reshapes the clouds
All that is left
The unmistakable darkness
The bleak nothingness
A dark sheet to cover an empty sky
Hangs gracefully over the world
Because behind creeping shadows
Is unimaginable light
It lives to illuminate the Heavens
Bright, shimmering fragments
Burn through their somber stockade
Tear through the grim emptiness
Creating a legacy
Of men and monsters
Of signs and charms
A masterpiece of tales and riddles
An unnoticed wonder of the world
A sight only seen by those awake
While the rest of the world sleeps
