Ode to Fall
I praise the crisp air
Filled with woodsmoke and the honey smell
Of Fall
And the countryside
Abundant apple trees
And sweet hay
In a cozy cottage in the wood
With sunlight and rosemary and mint
Pouring in from the windows.
I stay for the taste of autumn
And the buzzing woods
And purple evenings
And the late summer berries.
