your smile energizes me more than any caffeine

I thought I could make it
I could drink in your eyes
and wash it down with a visit to the coffee house
with another boy whose lips I don't look at
I thought my heart beat still
but you make my cheeks ache
you make my still heart roar blood in my ears
I never belived I "needed" a person
I shook my head at my sister
when she declared her lover completed her
I was always a whole
with no empty space to complete
but I can't breathe when you laugh
this is a new kind of want
I have never known about
