Just an instant!

That's all it takes

For a mind to experience major thought-quakes

Then, just as fast,

gone is its last,

the wind blew it away.

So forward you go

Chasing thoughts through crisp snow

the wind is gentle,

it won't your words,

So how disappointed you are when it lands

in a nest of the birds!

You climb up the tree,

the wind cold as can be,

they're barely out of your grasp,

and then, just so fast!

On comes along a bird of beautiful song,

gently taking the words you'd been chasing so long...

You're away- you can't fly!

No matter how you try

So you take to pursue on land,

Time slipping as fast as sand,

Your cold self begins to quiver,

as the bird has dropped them in the river.

The river carries them away

Perhaps only to keep you at bay,

But on, on you chase

You persist on winning this race.

As the river takes a bend

You know this can't be how it ends!

Finally you have obtained them at last!

You have never gone on an adventure like this is the past,

However, the words are mangled and torn,

And you yourself are much too worn

You go to bed, as it's late in the night,

And as you drift of you think

'What a story I'll write!'

About having the words you want one minute and then once you start writing, forgetting what they are. SO FRUSTRATING.
