Aspiring Stars
One day
You and I
We'll be the stars
like the ones we see;
not the type that walk on red,
but the kind
that people like us gaze up at
and wonder
how something
seemingly so small could
be so huge
and beautiful...
We will be known, one in 300 billion,
part of something bigger than we are:
Orion, Cassiopeia, Aries,
we will burn forever,
glimmering from above
those who dream,
Until then
we can stay here,
being the dreamers on cool grass,
gazing at the
star-filled sky.
We will belong in that star garden
when the time arrives.

For a school project, then I ended up liking it.
