Forgotten Story
Set upon a shelf, binding wearing and dust collecting
Expected to remain always there, same spot until needed
Just for you to pick me up and skim, skip, pages
For I am the same old story you’ve come to know
Too weak to leave, too in love to dare
Always there to catch you when you fall
To wipe away your tears with soft kisses
Mend you in all I can
Just as you expect me to be, there
To sit and wait, my love holding me in place
But is it because you love me so
Or is it that you don’t love me enough
