Angst
Oh everyone wants a dark past
Drug addictions and disease
An order of two please
Late night murders and self-doubt
In an overdose of idiocy
As the precocious white teens
In their ripped jeans and long sleeves
Dress in black and listen to music
They don’t understand
They all want to commit suicide
But no one wants to die
Black Hearts
Black Views
A generation that won’t pay their dues
Even though they could
Because poverty isn’t their reality
Only a fashion choice
So we bare our wrists
Clench our fists
And slice
Into perfectly good skin
We walk into school
Epitome of cool as we
Compare our scars
Across our arms
But as we compare our fake sadness
We walk right by the saddened who
Are actually
Sitting
Alone.
