Message to the Ocean
Hello,
Could you say hello to the sea for me?
Could you blow it a kiss and say how I miss it
Could you wade in its waters and feel its push against you
Could you caress each wave as it flows through your fingers
Could you brave its cold fire and plunge in face first
Could you feel the pull of its tug out into the deep and just whisper my name
Could you sing the sea a lullaby?
Could you lull it to sleep as the sun goes down and the birds fly overhead and the temperature falls
Could you give in and float so you become the water and water is what holds you
Could you swim underneath the world and block out the noise of the city and think about me
Could you tell the sea I care?
Could you reassure it that I’ll be there as soon as I can
Could you laugh in the bright sparkling sun and throw the water into the air so high I could see it
Could you tell the sea I’m sorry?
Could you tell the sea I tried
Could you tell the sea I’m running
Could you tell the sea I’m almost there.

I wanted to use repetition like the repeating waves.
