I wake up as chemicals react
There’s no generality in your touch
Feeling, sensation, it’s a fact
Waves flowing by,
My vision is filtered
Dazed by the night sky
Your eyes tell what it’s like,
What it feels to fly
Your touch burns in my memory
Searing my heart with scars
As we take off, rise above the ash
Soaring up to the stars
I’m electric
We’re infinite
Pain is part of collision
Accidents are no incident
I’m ready to live,
I’m ready to live
But then the truth sets in
And all the trees catch on fire
Hurting more, as I aspire
Blood falling from my head
Covers my sight, hiding the real world
Muffling gun shots, nobody said
Nightmares are only in bed
Now I see all that time,
I misread
All the words she never said
Sinking in,
Pools of ink
Drowning in my dreams
Never finding a link
I’ll forever be,
On the brink

Sometimes those you help you recite the formula for chemical reactions, start a fire in you that will never die.
