Battling With Winter
Brightness enters through my window.
I’m being tricked by the snow
Thinking I’ve woken up to a bright summer day
When the window didn’t barricade the fresh breeze of air
That had tickled the beads of sweat off my robust skin.
Now the heat shrieks up from under the window
Out of an aged radiator
Confounding the frigid touch of the glass
That’s bounded by the beaten wooded frame.
I am bound by the snow.
It has chained me to its set limits
Thinking it could surmount my feeble body,
But the snow’s offense isn’t always solid.
