Plans
Your street is a forbidden part of town
And I do not wish to find my way to your front porch
Only to find that I was not dreaming
When I heard you stepped foot on the clouds.
Gone are the burdens accompanying you;
Never again will I scream that I hate you
And then forgive you because I really don't:
You will always be my favorite parasite.
Simple days lay behind our trail;
Our mistakes over my perfection I prefer,
Even those that broke my leg
Even those that made me cry the Nile.
Our promises pulverized crumbs on the mat,
The very same you left your tacks on.
Crumbled up is our marked up map
Left to decompose like my faith.
