The Light
A girl.
Sitting in the corner with a grimace,
Tracing thin scars.
Helpless, ashamed, alone.
Crying, hurting, blaming.
A boy.
Skinny dark figure,
Running down a road.
Abused, angry, afraid.
Destroying, hiding, fleeing.
A light.
A small glimmer of illumination,
Replacing darkness with a glow.
Quiet, soundless, motionless.
Shining, warming, healing.
But the light.
Dyed to it all.
For the boy, for the girl.
Misunderstood, taunted, killed.
Accepting, loving, saving.
But the boy.
And the girl
Don't accept, don't love, don't save.
Misunderstand, taunt, kill.
And the light,
still
glows...
