Life in Slumber
Sky painted black
Glitter thrown on top
Twinkling Lights
And a silvery moon
Time to rest
Before the light
Kills the shadows
I’m glad to be consumed by blankets
I close my eyes
And images appear
Images so surreal
They were not to be believed
Fairies dancing
Mermaids Singing
A whole new world
Right in my dreams
Unlike the world I departed
This place is better
Lakes as big the sea
Trees as blue as forgetmenot flowers
A place that isn’t real
Yet I am there
It’s beautiful
I never want to leave
But then a faint voice
The images blurr
The voice beckons me
Everything disappears
I blink
I’m home in bed
My mother at my side
I’m back to reality
